My name is Jonas Inigo Bartels. I am from Palo Alto, California, where I work as a private coding and math tutor. In 2024, I completed my BA at Carleton College in Minnesota, where I majored in Computer Science and minored in Music. I am now pursuing an MS degree in Computer Science through University of Colorado Boulder.
I have a strong passion for software development and am eager to learn and grow in the field. I am fascinated by search and graph traversal algorithms, complexity optimization (especially for large simulations), and various forms of machine learning. Over the last few years, I have explored these areas (and more) through a wide variety of projects, both independent and academic, that have made me quite comfortable tackling high-level problems with an object-oriented approach. I pride myself on my dexterity with Python, which has been my language of choice for a majority of my projects, though I also have developed proficiency with a variety of other programming languages and libraries.
In the last year, I have worked as an after-school and private homeschooling tutor. Here, my curriculum is always bespoke and caters to the interests of the student and the priorities of the parents. Subject matter typically ranges from coding fundamentals and basic web development to advanced algorithms, data-structures, and complexity theory.
I am fluent in both English and German and have both a US and German (EU) passport.
